A family of five does not need two rooms with ACOE: the Tokyo apartments and houses below take all five of you on one booking. For each of them, see where the fifth person sleeps.
A family of 5 can stay together in Tokyo on one booking. The apartments and houses on this page take five guests or more. Their Tokyo wards include Shinjuku, Shibuya, Nakano, Taito, Koto and Minato. Each booking is one apartment or one house, with beds for all five.
A hotel can house five too, sometimes in two rooms. At one Tokyo hotel, for example, a room takes three adults at most and no extra beds are added, so five adults there need at least two rooms.
Homes where at least one of you sleeps in the living area come first. Then come the homes where all five can sleep in bedrooms. In each group, homes for fewer guests come first.
Before you choose, check where the fifth person would sleep. For each home, here are the bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, lift or stairs, and the children's items we have confirmed, in the same order as above.

Every home on this page sleeps five or more. What differs is where the beds are. The home-by-home details above give the beds for each home. Here are some examples.
At least one of you in the living area
Asakusa: 2 double beds in the bedroom. The fifth person sleeps on the double sofa bed in the living area.
ACOE HOTEL AZABU: the bunk bed in the bedroom sleeps 4. The fifth person sleeps on the sofa bed in the living area.
Azabu-Juban II: 1 double bed in the bedroom. At least three of you sleep on the bunk bed in the living area.
Morishita 3F: 1 double bed in the bedroom. At least three of you sleep in the living area, on a double bed or the double sofa bed.
All five in bedrooms
Homes with enough beds in their bedrooms for all five include Fuyu Hatsudai, Higashi-Shinjuku, Azabu-Juban I, Hatsudai, Okubo, Nakano-Sakaue, Kaminarimon Asakusa and Morishita Penthouse.
Nakano-Sakaue has 5 single beds, and Kaminarimon Asakusa has 5 bedrooms. Hatsudai has 6 beds in each house: 4 single beds and 2 double beds. Okubo has 5 beds: 3 double beds, 1 semi-double bed and 1 double-size sofa bed. At Fuyu Hatsudai and Higashi-Shinjuku, at least one of you sleeps on a futon. At Azabu-Juban I and Higashi-Shinjuku, one bedroom has a bunk bed.
When you book, enter all five guests, children included. Places to stay in Japan keep a register of their guests, which is why your booking should list everyone in your party. If one of the five is a baby, email us at office@acoe.jp before you book to ask how to count them.
Hotels set their own rules for children. At one large Japanese chain, for example, children aged 12 and under can share an adult's bed for free, one child per bed. There, a child who needs a bed of their own counts as a guest.
Do we need two rooms for a family of 5 in Tokyo?
Not with ACOE. Each booking is one apartment or one house, and the homes on this page take five guests or more. At a hotel, it depends on the hotel's room types and its rules for children.
Can we book for four and bring a fifth child?
Please book for five, children included. Places to stay in Japan keep a register of their guests, so your booking should list everyone who stays. Flat Shinjuku, a one-room apartment, is for up to 4 guests. If one of the five is a baby, email us at office@acoe.jp before you book to ask how to count them.
Is the fifth bed a sofa bed, a futon or a bunk?
It depends on the home. For example, at Asakusa and ACOE HOTEL AZABU, the fifth person sleeps on a sofa bed in the living area. At Azabu-Juban II, at least three of you sleep on the bunk bed in the living area. At Fuyu Hatsudai and Higashi-Shinjuku, at least one of you sleeps on a futon. Nakano-Sakaue has 5 single beds, one for each of you. Hatsudai has 6 beds in each house, 4 single beds and 2 double beds, so each of you can have a bed of your own. At Okubo, the beds are 3 double beds, 1 semi-double bed and 1 double-size sofa bed.
Which homes are the closest fit for five?
Homes for up to 6 guests include Asakusa, Azabu-Juban II and ACOE HOTEL AZABU. Homes for up to 7 include Fuyu Hatsudai and Higashi-Shinjuku. Some homes on this page take 8 to 10 guests, and the home-by-home details give the guest limit for each.
Other party sizes: family of 4, family of 6, family of 7 and large groups.
